What We Do

Ill Wind is an anti-wind farm blog – dedicated to the protection of Britain’s Communities

Originally started in 2012 by members of the Swindon community who were threatened by the installation of a wind farm, this domain is now dedicated to combatting the invasive installation of wind farms across the United Kingdom.

After spending a year campaigning against the developers (Honda), the writers at Ill Wind succeeded in convincing the local council that the installation of the two turbine and three turbine options would considerably effect the local community. The Swindon Councillors then went on to reject both plans.

After successfully rallying the support of over 500 local people at a special planning meeting – Ill Wind recorded a win against ‘the man’. With it’s job done – the site was left to expire by the owners. However, the fight against improper wind farm proposals is one that continues to this day.

This site is now a home for the stories of those affected by wind farms, as well as those who protest against them.
